Zayed International Airport (AUH)

Abu Dhabi’s main airport, renamed from Abu Dhabi International in February 2024 and home to Etihad Airways. Terminal A opened in late 2023. It sits on the mainland east of the city, closer to Yas and Saadiyat than to the older island districts.

What it means for property

The airport is the reason the Yas and Raha side of Abu Dhabi commutes so differently from the island. For a buyer weighing Yas Island or Al Raha against Al Reem or Corniche addresses, the airport run is one of the few journeys where the mainland side wins outright, and it is a real factor for anyone flying weekly.
