The emirate’s main airport, in Garhoud between Deira and Dubai Creek, and one of the busiest airports in the world for international passengers. Three terminals, with Terminal 3 handling Emirates. It sits inside the city rather than outside it, which is why the drive from most of old Dubai is short.
Proximity to DXB is a rental argument before it is a resale one. Cabin crew, aviation staff and frequent flyers concentrate in the communities within a short drive of it, which supports year-round occupancy in Garhoud, Mirdif, Deira and along the Green Line. The trade is noise: under an approach path the premium reverses, and it is worth checking the flight path for a specific building rather than the community.
