Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC)

Dubai’s second airport at Dubai World Central, south of the city beside Expo City and Jebel Ali. It handles a fraction of DXB’s traffic today. Dubai has approved a very large expansion with the stated intention of moving operations here over the coming decades.

This is the long-dated story in Dubai South, Expo City and the southern half of the emirate: the expansion is the reason those masterplans exist at the scale they do. Treat the timeline as developer guidance rather than a date, because airport programmes of this size move.
