Leasehold

A long-term right to a property, typically 30 to 99 years, without owning the underlying land. At the end of the term the property reverts to the freeholder. Some established Dubai districts and parts of Abu Dhabi offer leasehold rather than freehold to foreign buyers.

Leasehold prices sit below comparable freehold for a reason: the term burns down, remortgaging late in a term is hard, and renewals are negotiations. Price it accordingly and check exactly how many years remain, not how many the lease started with.
