Tawtheeq

Abu Dhabi’s tenancy registration system, the emirate’s equivalent of Dubai’s Ejari. Leases in Abu Dhabi must be registered in Tawtheeq for utility connection and legal enforceability; landlords or their agents typically handle the registration.

Like Ejari, Tawtheeq is the document everything else hangs on: ADDC utilities, dispute filings, visa paperwork. Check your lease is registered rather than assuming; unregistered tenancies weaken your position in any disagreement.
