Ejari

Also searched as: ejari registration

Dubai’s mandatory tenancy registration system, run by the DLD. Every Dubai lease must be registered in Ejari, which makes the contract legally enforceable and is required for DEWA connection, visa applications and any rent dispute. Registration costs roughly AED 220 and is usually done online.

The party who registers varies by agreement but the tenant usually pays. No Ejari means no standing at the Rent Dispute Centre, so never skip it to save the fee. Renewals need re-registration each year.
