RERA rental index

The DLD’s official index of average rents by area and property type in Dubai. It caps rent increases: how far your current rent sits below the index average determines the maximum legal increase at renewal, from 0% up to 20% in bands.
A landlord must also give 90 days’ written notice of any increase before renewal. Run your numbers through the index before negotiating; a demand outside the bands is not enforceable at the Rent Dispute Centre.
