Rent Dispute Centre (RDC)

Also searched as: rdc, rental dispute settlement centre

The judicial arm of the Dubai Land Department that rules on landlord-tenant disputes: unpaid rent, illegal rent increases, evictions and deposit arguments. Filing costs 3.5% of the annual rent (with minimum and maximum caps) and most cases are decided within weeks.

The RDC only hears cases with a registered Ejari. Its rulings follow the RERA rental index closely on increase disputes, so run the calculator first: if the demanded increase is outside the index, the case is usually straightforward.
